3 Buried with full military honors as a war hero

Bamse was one of the most popular crew members and because of his devotion he was also made the official mascot of the Royal Norwegian Navy. On 22nd of July 1944, Bamse the St Bernard succumbed to a heart attack while the ship was docked at Montrose which was a huge blow to the crew. They had just lost their greatest friend and guardian.

Bamse was given a full military burial with honors which was also attended by hundreds of sailors and residents of Dundee and Montrose.
