3 Scientists have searched for tetrachromats for years
For years scientists have been on the lookout for humans with such abilities. Concetta was discovered in 2012. It is believed that just 1 % of the world’s population could be tetrachromatic. Vision researcher at the University of Washington, Jay Neitz stated that with practice can unlock the powers of a tetrachromat to see even more specially designed shades.
Scientists at the University of California, Irvine have studied Antico for a year to understand the mutation of an extra cone. However they admitted it is a tough task because tests are only designed for red green and blue whereas Antico sees more than that including a reddish orangey yellow.
